She is certified in acupuncture and oriental herbal medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine since 2010. She is licensed in NY and NJ currently. Having a strong understanding of human body from both perspectives of biomedical science and alternative medicine (Chinese Medicine), allows her to provide integrative and holistic care to her patients. Her treatments often integrate acupuncture, herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, essential oils and various exercises which are tailored to individuals' needs and your unique body constitution. Her passion for holistic healing has led her on a lifelong learning journey. She strongly believes the best practice of healthcare is the integration of the conventional medicine with alternative healing modalities in conjunction of healthier lifestyle. So she devotes most of her time in studying and expanding her knowledge in both alternative healing modalities and conventional medicine/biomedical science. Since her graduation from NYCTCM, her clinical applications are mainly influenced by these doctors' teachings: Dr. Wei Jie Young D.OM, Dr. Kamto Lee D.OM, Dr. Jeffrey Yuen D.OM, and Dr. Liang Chuan Lin. Her passion is to look for the best care possible for each individual and strongly believe there is no incurable diseases but yet to discover the cure. She is a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Prior to the pandemic (June 2020), she used to work at Virtua Wellness Center (part of the Virtua Healthcare System in New Jersey), and taught in New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in addition to her private practice.
Her philosophy in the achievement and maintenance of health is to harmonize the body, mind, and spirit. Through a holistic and personalized approach driven by each individual's pulse diagnosis, she prioritises treatments based on the urgent needs of your body at the moment and your body constitution.
She had many years of training in pulse diagnosis, which gives her insight of your conditions and paves a good foundation for an efficacy treatment plan. Her goal is to help you regain an overall well-beings including mind, body and spirit. She firmly believes that the best route to effective treatments is compassion and genuine interest in each person's well being, on the part of the practitioner, and the trust and faith gained in return. She would love to support you in this healing journey to regain your overall well-being. She has been trained by a well known Taiwanese orthopaedist Dr. Liang Chuang Lin who strongly believes our skin is like a jumpsuit of our body, our musculoskeletal structure and organs are competing for the skin/membranes. She had hands on training on structural reduction therapy by Dr. Lin periodically since 2015. She uses Dr. Lin's special needling techniques (SRT) to correct your musculoskeletal structure to address your pain conditions. In addition she combines your pulse and tongue diagnosis, and integrates different techniques for a best possible treatment for you. Please contact her if you are determined to make a positive change in your life and take ownership of your physical and mental health.
She had learned many different acupuncture styles and pulse diagnosis methods. At the end, she found the classical Chinese Medicine from the Daoist traditions and Dr. Lin's Structural Reduction Therapy (SRT) resonates with her the most, which is her main clinical practice currently. However, she still applies other styles such as scalp, ear, abdominal, facial acupuncture and master Tung's acupuncture depending on the situation.
Haizhen has a special interests in musculoskeletal pain conditions using structural reduction therapy, women's health (infertility, irregular menstrual conditions, PMS) but she is also well trained in treating other health conditions including neurological disorder/brain injuries (Post Stroke, Parkinson, Bell's Palsy, Facial paralysis, Autism, ADD/ADHD, Shingle), symptoms from cancer treatments, women's gynecological issues, such as infertility, irregular menstruation, morning sickness, weight control and facial rejuvenation, and common health issues in older adults, such as pain syndromes, depression, anxiety, seasonal allergy and insomnia. Her treatments have been very effective clinically. She has ten years of experience in providing family care to a wide range of aged patients from 4 years old to 100 years old.
She also has her gentle approach with children and slowly eases them into acupuncture treatment. So she sees many children as well.
