Few years ago, I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. I had two incidences that I could not stand up due to the severe pain on my lower lumbar area and shooting pain traveling down to my right knee. The most recent one lasted for almost six months. I consulted many experts, and got the same answer that I needed a surgery. I refused to get surgery because I have seen many patients clinically who still suffered with back pain after surgeries. But I wasn't sure if I could heal myself. All I wanted was actually symptoms free.
So I made a treatment plan with combination of exercise, diet and acupuncture treatments. Every morning, I would do the exercise with the guidance of my trainer/physical therapist. Then I used the roller to loose off muscles on my lower back, hip, thigh and legs, or take bath with epsom salt to loose off the muscles. In the first two months, I was getting acupuncture treatments at least twice a week, slowly I waned it down to once a week. I watched my posture and avoided long term sitting. In addition, I followed the diet without cheese, milk products nor deep fried food, and tried to eat gluten free.
After six months, I had no more symptoms, and haven't had for years now. But ever since, I kept those lifestyle changes, but no more regular acupuncture treatments.
